The proposed changes to the Sunday and public holiday penalty rates have worried many Australians working in the hospitality, fast food, retail and pharmaceutical industries.
The cuts were announced on the 23rd of February by the Fair Work Commission and is backed by the Australian government.
The changes include slashing the rates that make working on a Sunday so appealing. As of right now, public holiday rates will change on the 1st of July, 2017.
There is hope though, although the Fair Work Commission is a seperate entity from the government, the opposition may be able to block the legislation in parliament.
