As Australians braced for catastrophic fire conditions across New South Wales and Queensland this week, residents and those on the frontlines shared their stories through social media.
The Bushfires Across Eastern New South Wales Crisis Response page had over a thousand posts offering first-hand accounts and support to those affected.
When the early signs of fires appeared across NSW, hundreds of residents used Facebook to warn their local communities.
With conditions worsening and fires jumping across roads and highways, photos from those on the front lines showed the imminent danger.
Fires continued to rage throughout the night, devastating the mid coast of NSW.
Fire crews worked tirelessly to save lives and property throughout the state, both on the ground and from the air.

Up to 50 homes were damaged or destroyed by fires and residents returning to their homes revealed their personal expereinces.
Currently there are 83 fires burning in NSW with 36 not yet contained. Queensland firefighters and residents are bracing for worsening conditions today.
