Trans-cendant: does the T still have a place?

The director of Marriage Equality Australia, Tim Peppard, caused a stir last week when he referred to the trans community as “sensitive”.

Hatch’s Beau Driscoll asked the Melbourne’s trans community how they felt about their involvement in the same-sex marriage debate raging while the national “survey” is under way, courtesy of a government scared to commit itself.

He uncovered a real disconnect between the T and the LGB-etc community:

While Mr Peppard said it was a “big claim” to say trans people feel excluded, he made it clear that all trans people are welcome in the Marriage Equality organisation. – Beau Driscoll
