With new age technology on the rise, so too is the prominence of social media.
However, the harsh reality is it’s shaping the way we live our lives.
Whether it’s constantly snapchatting during the day, instagramming before a night out, or spending hours scrolling through news feeds – it is safe to say that social media has taken society to a point of no return.
And one of the consequences is the increase in the number of young people with mental health issues. Many are juggling anxiety, depression and body image issues.
21-year-old Millie Harris told Hatch that she thinks there’s “no going back.”
If you’re suffering anxiety or depression as a result of social media use, you’re not alone.
A UK study called #StatusOfMind examined the positive and negative effects of social media on young people’s health – and found some worrying trends.
